Board of Advisors

Our Board of Advisors provides us experienced guidance and advise on the needs of growing companies and how Altus service offerings should be developed in response. This Board also offers insights on industry trends and what directions are necessary to address changes in economic and government policies. The Board's extensive experience covers government defense and civilian agencies and both technology and contract services. Board members are frequently involved directly in client consultation and advice.

  • Carl McNair is the Special Assistant to the President at CSC, responsible for the coordination of Government Relations and Legislative Affairs. Prior to this position, he held a series of executive positions within DynCorp culminating in his position of President, Enterprise Management. Before joining DynCorp, Mr. McNair was Vice President, Army Programs with Burdeshaw Associates, Ltd. Earlier he served the U.S. Army for more than 32 years in key Research and Development, Infantry and Army Aviation command and staff positions, retiring in 1987, as a Major General. Recently he was inducted into the Army Aviation Hall of Fame.
  • K. Clark Childers is a CPA and Partner in the Northern Virginia office of Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, a large regional accounting firm, where he concentrates in providing consulting, accounting and auditing services to government contractors, service and technology firms, manufacturers and not-for-profit organizations. Prior to that he was a founding principal of Offutt Childers & Putman, P.C. and worked at Price Waterhouse for 17 years. Clark is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) and he is the past President and Board member of the National Capital Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
  • James L. Flinn III recently retired from civilian service with the Department of the Army after 35 years, serving as Deputy to the Commanding General, the senior civilian position of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. He served the Army in the ranks of Senior Executive Service for twenty three years, with assignments in Germany, twice at Army Headquarters level in the Pentagon and three at Army Materiel Command locations. Mr. Flinn is currently serving on faculty as Executive-in-Residence, College of Administrative Sciences, University of Alabama in Huntsville.
  • Ronald Cuneo was the Senior Vice President & General Manager of Oracle's State & Local Government practice.  His responsibilities included software sales, the management and growth of a 700 person professional services organization and the implementation of ERP software for a number of hi-profile public sector organizations.  Prior to that Mr. Cuneo served as President of Wang Federal, President & CEO of HFSI, a several hundred million dollar integrator and services provider to the federal sector, and the Vice President & General Manager of Honeywell Federal Systems.
  • Michael Long is a Managing Member of Steel Horse Capital Partners. He is a former partner at Hogan & Hartson, LLP where he represented venture capital, private equity, and mezzanine funds in fund formation, portfolio investments, and exit transactions for aggregate consideration in excess of $1 Billion. Mr. Long has also represented numerous federal government service contractors in both corporate and merger and acquisition transactions.
